sq_compass-4.jpgLow cost SOLID STATE advanced Pitch / Roll / Temperature compensated COMPASS / MAGNETOMETER system is built around a state of the art CMOS microcontroller utilizing AOSI’s proprietary algorithm on a 0.9″DIAM x 2″ for versions 4L and 4VL, and 0.9″ DIAM x 6″ for the version 3AVL assembled PCBs to fit 1″ tubular probes.

The LOGGING COMPASS permits users standalone data collection of up to 20000 data samples without the use of any additional loggers or any other equipment. The user can pre-select required data string and set the compass into the logging mode.

Upon next power-up the logging compass after predetermined delay will initiate automatic data collection at accurate logging intervals. At the end of logging, data can be easily moved into a delimited text file for future analysis.

Example: with 10 sec read intervals and 4 selected variables the compass will perform logging for about 11 hours. Logging compasses are available in vertical or horizontal configurations. Compasses are also available in PROBE vertical and horizontal configurations, as well as DIVE versions.

Units output continuous heading, magnetic field, dual axis tilt and temperature data over the standard USB*, RS-232.RS-422 and  RS-485* interfaces. The AZIMUTH is generated from a 3 axis semiconductor magnetometer with 12 bit ( 0.08 deg ) resolution. The LINEAR tilt information is available with 12 bit resolution for over +-90arcdeg. COMPASS/TILT module is perfectly suitable for logging, bore hole profiling, antenna orientation, numerous navigation, research, training, construction, entertainment and other precision orientation, navigation and leveling applications.

The COMPASS is able to output multi-sensor information in NMEA-0183 mode and responds to numerous generally used commands. Easy link through the Hyper Terminal Windows accessory facilitates custom calibration, hard iron compensation, data acquisition, data averaging, scan delay, dumping factor and data display.
